The Persistence of Being

by Joe Cramer

The possibility of life being,
Such loneliness always does beset me.
In all that I am, all I am seeing,
My chained heart is never truly set free.
I long for such a time, for such a chance
At a life, forever joined together
Just to finally share this self-serving dance
It does not matter why, or wherever.
My persistence of love becomes being.
The final outcome of a life wasted.
My romantic heart is always fleeing,
Fruit of love to be forever tasted.
In my heart I am always persistent
Until true love comes, I will not relent.
