Fool Me Once

by Matthew Zangen

All lies rot throats
before they itch an ear

blessing a lonely nose
to coddle the eyes
and part every stench
that festers thence

to twist the tongue
or feed the flies.

Chilled on the bite of it. "Waiter, I'll take that frozen solid, please." Incredible.
