Set me free by Keith D AllisonTurn me loose
I have been told
that people
want icewater… in hell
freedom and peace they ache within me
the years do grin set me free
the face forgotten
but the drums still beat within
Set me free
from the cold dark night
from the hell of that name
no lips ever whispered
you were never mind
But I ache I grieve inside
why do I weep on my knees I do cry
that's four letter word can only mean
pain and misery set me free
No more to taste the grief
forever to dwell in the dark of the lonely cave
where misery can no longer touch
oh love set me free
They say
love is a sweet wine
but
I have no glass to fill
So
Turned and laugh
but set me free
for this feels like hell

Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 08/21/09 at 09:29 PM Pretty gut-wrenching, Keith. But, you go at it tooth and nail. I think that there is misfortune in not being loved, but true misery in not loving. The emotions run deep and deeper through this. Thanks. |
