Lost love

by Vikki Owens

I had true love
and I lost it,
dropped it out of my pocket,
I never know why
things get taken away,
so many
tolls,
that I am constantly paying,
frittering my nickles and dimes
of affection,
only to find
nothing in common
and no connection.

I had true love
and I lost it,
I gave more than was given back,
and it cost more
in the long run.

Good write Vikki. But love costs nothing unless we are looking for it in return. Hopefully when were are ready, it will find us.
