Beyond the Lizard's Mind

by Kourosh Taheri-Golvarzi

Take my bread and take my beer,
I'll still eat earth and get high off of sound.
I strive to know myself, love all, and fear none,
As governments move in and try to pound
Divine god-given rights we've always had, that no one
Can ever nullify, as we have to realize that we're
The final rulers of our lives, and that we are divine;
We are the God we're waiting for to come and "save us all",
And once we realize that we're divine creators,
No government can stop us then,
No guilt or shame can hinder us,
And certainly, no self-contemptuous "master"
Will make us their slave.
This reptile's darkness can't go on forever. Law of Balance
Will eventually return the universe to equilibrium,
So just you wait and see, O Lizard "gods".
We will have to be the change we so await, and so we will.
The signs of our collective "waking up" are everywhere.
We won't submit forever.
Rule us now,
We won't submit forever.
Just you wait and see.

This is a great POTD. I wish I could be as optomistic as you but I agree with a lot of what you say. Congratulations.

this type of change is slow to take shape, a lot of moving parts to align and what-not. But yes, one day we all awaken into being that change. I sense it too. excellent poem to be greeted with this morning, congrats =)
