Machetes

by V. Blake

I bought some machetes
I've got to cut some holes in this goddamn heat
If I ever want to breathe again
But I can hardly lift my arms
Beneath the weight of this goddamn air
To swing the fuckers fast enough.

Author's Note: Yesterday it was 93 degrees and 52% humidity. Today it's 90, and 65%. I want to die.

Not the happy morning poem I was in the mood for, lol, but descriptive!!! I can feel it, thick like a stifling blanket. Find a mall with a library!!

I adore this! My favorite of yours so far.
I miss my machete.
