august seventeenth

by Ava Blu

i was awake until 7am,
what seemed like flashbacks occurred
over and over as i watched the world become
light again

and all i remembered today is that you
weren't there for me.

The ball just keeps rolling on your latest August series. When all of the poems of this month are put together there's a chance that this one might be overlooked because it's one of the more simple, basic poems you've ever written. I think that would be a mistake on anyone's part. This is still great work, clever in how it strikes at that concept of writing something that is very much your own, very much another brilliant Ava Blu poem but in doing so also hits a nerve and a feeling that I would imagine many of us have experienced in our private way. I really like this.
