The Blue Hour by Scott Cadence
time begs
for a breath
away
even
if it's only
for a moment
I try
to loop you
around me
and make
the work week
disappear
like
a song
on repeat
sometimes
you're just a mood
that I need to feel
on every part
of me
loosing
my lines
above you
our bodies
melting into
each other
till I
can no longer
tell who's heartbeat
is moving
the bed
right now
I feel so much more
than the man
I might not be
always recovering
another artifact
that I discovered
in your eyes
lost relics
and family
heirlooms
silly novel
of proverbs -
the blessings,
and a curse
I cherish
all the elements here,
working and weaving
into the scene
even
your stubborn ways,
that catch me off guard
reeling my body
backwards
I recognize
the amateur
I will always be
in this body
– agreed
but my heart
is steadfast
bounding forth
so I’ll jump without
any reservation
into controversy
and
hopefully
land with perfect form
right back
next to you
in the blue
hour.
