SOMEDAY I'M GOING TO DO IT by W. Mahlon PurdinIt isn't easy.
It takes imagination, courage, and
Great inventiveness.
It takes poetic insight,
Historical perspective, intelligence,
Strategic balance, mental
Agility, flexibility, and guile;
It takes a crooked streak and
Cajoling, jokes by the dozen, and even
A trick or two; it takes planning
And purpose, it takes hope
And faith; it takes persistence
And perspicacity. It takes bribery
And salesmanship, threats,
And swindles by the hundreds.
It takes everything I've got and
Then a whole lot more.
Keeping you up past 9:30 is
The hardest thing I've ever done.
And, someday I'm going to do it. 02/15/1982 Posted on 08/11/2009 Copyright © 2026 W. Mahlon Purdin

| Posted by A. Paige White on 08/11/09 at 09:53 PM This is great! The way you pyramid it makes the final revelation all the better. Thanks for the laugh. One suggestion? Try tucking the sheets in like they do at hotels. That should take her/him at least a good five minutes to disassemble... :-D |
