How We Begin to Remember

by Melissa Panther

The poppies rose to greet you,

but you did not wake

until they bowed and it

was in their leaning you

felt most at awe with

their nature, as if they

had remembered you from

when you were more than

mortal

This poetry sets the bar. It speaks volumes in such a use of words that is magnetic and pulling. It is a masterpiece. Thank you for it.
