they worry i will be used again,
the past fresh on my tongue

but i am not fooled by the clumps
of hair around his eyes;

i know where the pictures lead.

As always, that confidence rings through. It's in the tone of the piece and it's in the reader getting a sense that you know exactly what you're going to say before you ever say it. You're always three steps ahead, but it never seems like you're going too fast. Again, that's your doing. I really like this, the image of the first two lines most of all.
