by Ava Bluin your town,
there is a small story
unfolding
a miracle merging
with the hairs on your arm,
and i will use my eyes
to enjoy the

Without it, this would be a really simple (but still good), straightforward short poem, but that second stanza throws it into a wonderful, weird territory that gives an extra dimension that any other writer probably wouldn't be clever enough to think of. |
