In the summer of winter season

by Keith D Allison

When the children
say you are too old
for such foolish thing
has life passed so quickly
does not the nova star light still glistens
the heart still has motion
but can there be, that
the kiss
that feeling
that makes the world twinkled
that melody that feels the universe with dream's
can no longer be yours
have you crossed that line
now buried
in the winter season
is it's time to close your eyes
and hope the morning light will never come
dry the tear
open the cage and let the bird fly

I feel as a diamond in a whirlwind, tossed about, and FUNCTIONING, not NOT functioning. Still viable, despite age and appearence, ready to fly on, and yes, still shining as the nova, because that light take so long to reach us and burns so brightly. There is much here I enjoy in this, Keith. Nice work. Thanks.
