The Countdown

by Maude Curtis

One month from today is your birthday.
That's when you planned to be here with me.
Four weeks, 31 days, 31 long lonesome nights,
744 hours, 44,640 minutes, 2,678,400 seconds,
the time is going by so fast, yet not fast enough.
2,678,395, 2,678,394, 2,678,393, 2,678,392
Will I be holding you in my arms soon,
laughing and crying at the same time?
2,678,385, 2,678,384. This is all I want to do,
is sit and watch the time go by,
til you're here with me again and
we can have the life we were cheated out of
for so many years. 2,678,373, 2,678,372, 2,678,371
I'm here, my love, waiting for you.
2,678,366

Terrific Maude, full of excitment and urgency, like passion run amuck....delighted. Thanks.
