296 days by Carolyn CovilleThe douglas fir evergreens reach higher
than any spruce tree on the east coast
their perfectly symmetrical branches should inspire me...
yet, they don't.
On a clear day, I can see
the majestic, snow-capped mt. hood,
and to the north, I can also see
the white dome that is mt. st. helens.
These awesome vistas should inspire me...
yet, they don't.
Now, what puts a smile on my face
is when I see the infamous blue baseball cap
marked with a red B bobbing through the crowd
(especially if it's been 3 weeks since I've last seen one)
And every now and then,
I spot a white license plate with red numbers and blue letters;
another transplant, who has yet to change their plate
to an iridescent purple and green one.
