re: quest to pronounce affinity

by Laura Doom

The first person singular
waives recognition,
the second responds
with a wry inquisition.

A sceptic's dilemma
rolled up in a skin
the collective impersonal
shelters within.

Between them, a tenuous metaphor plays
with a message pre-mixed in the potboiling phase.

[A drizzle of drivel, a rumble of rhyme,
the motif defining this poetry crime.]
