Bones of the colony by Keith D AllisonHear the wailing winds
the lapping of the sea
dust and bone
the heart is gone
Drowning in
the years of decay
The gun and the sword
the sword in the gun
Longing for freedom
gave it birth
forgotten now, their prayer's
The bone the colony
The land of freedom
now land of greed
It has begun
in the cities and counties
Banding prayers
in the name of the colonist god
the price of freedom
the price of love
Often flows
as the red water

Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 07/17/09 at 01:22 AM Unusually political for you? But, I like every word. Let it serve as warning, awakening, what you will. Far beyond rant, it bends the historical into the philosophical. Nice, very nice. Thanks. |

Really deep in its centuries old feel. I feel the sadness of how we have lost the appreciation for what went in to making this country. Very cool piece. ~N |
