You Are An Avalanche.
by Jared OrlandoSome say I was timid at first
But with the reins released
I dropped all of my weight with
Ice trickling down every fragment a
Wind whirling dancing world in view
Igniting a blistering calm, I’m
Blue in the face, my graying skin
I fell down a mountainside
And found your features in the snow
You’re an avalanche
And as light as I feel
Nothing could ever stop you
Until the whole world is frost
And my aching trembling lips
Plagued with harrowing hypothermia
Will choke my every attempt
To torch your chilling outcries
Your glacial consistent needing
Your freezing faint-hearted reluctance
Will crush ships and lovers to come
A queen of all that’s cruel
And cold.
