Cemeterio

by V. Blake

Scream a prayer to scare the haunt
And echo an “Amen”
Close your eyes now, if you want
But never sleep again
Death will bring no solace, son
And as much will you learn
Even when your life is done
You’ll suffer and you’ll burn
Kings will rise up from the weak
When Cerberus is loose
Answers you saw unfit to seek
Will tighten up your noose

As children gather round the gallows
To witness the descent
Of shadows into shadows
And God to His lament
Underneath the azure skies
Will your apathy be broke
As you stare out at a sea of eyes
That sparkle as you choke
Your final words will go unheard
By ears deafened to your screams
And the beauty you once called absurd
Will massacre your dreams

Hypocrisy won't save you now
There’s no one by your side
Rot here till you disavow
The sins you deified
And when you’ve finally done this deed
More will await you yet
You’ll be crushed by the stampede
Of all that you regret
And it had better be too much
For us to call you friend
Should we decide to name you such
This pain will never end.

I like the rhyme scheme here, not forced but nice rhythm to it. You know how I feel about "be" :-) Slicing poem!!!
