My Eyes by Alison McKenzieI know something
That I don’t say with words;
Plenty of other words
Come, go,
Fly to paper
Sticky,
Trapped.
My eyes try to tell it -
Deep earthen pools
Full of something
Even I find disquieting.

Posted by V. Blake on 06/24/09 at 03:41 AM That last line is brilliant: "Full of something even I find disquieting." The rest of this paints an interesting minimalist picture, but I don't pretend to know what it is you know. |
Posted by Ken Harnisch on 06/24/09 at 04:01 AM the eyes have it in this intriguing gem of a poem...which makes you think about things unsaid and their weightier meaning. |
