I Argued With Myself This Morning

by Jon-Jacob F Deal

I argued with myself this morning
As I lay in bed;
A splendid row erupted 'twixt my body and my head
It seems they could not come to terms
With what course I should take--
Whether half-asleep to go to school, or
Lie there half-awake
Or to get up and get movin'
With my happiness the cost
Yeah, I argued with myself today;
Eventually, I lost.
