Captivated

by Elizabeth Hoadley

the ocean's lonely road
kisses
from the spray of a sea
embraces with the roll
of a ship

A prisoner
to the song
of a siren

the sea is rough
and the wind
buries all but
carries
the voice of
a tyrant

the musing
serenades all sailors
across the cold and
unforgiving ocean

a sailor, man of the
sea, but
can only hear
her as she sings

closer to the edge
lures her song
the mind stops
as the heart longs

to touch is to die,
but he fears not
of death, only
to be deaf of
her whispering breath

the water
swallows the sailor
into the deep
where breath
and heartbeat
are captive
of her sea

she undid him
from the sorrow
of her sea

"she undud him from the sorrow of her sea" sealed this wonderful sensory dive into your recurrent theme on water!!
