New Life in Foreign Corners by Jared OrlandoThe burning under a Louisiana sun
Taking the time catching smiles because
When you must create your own
You must be resourceful
Under the torches of these hot flashes
Embraces from the modern past
It's a bit too much
When we indulge in communal affair
Silence beckons to be materialized through
A tapping in the temples
An internal metronome, keeping time
Breathing tones sweetly piping
Into drippings of thoughts of home
A blurred definition of options at bay
Such spectacle sport for the introverted
Cricket chirps and befuddled romance
There's a blocking and confusion
With the rat race of a balancing act
An upper followed with the downer
To move on with keeping, kissing photos
Holding on and violently shaking
The core of foaming developments
Of new life in foreign corners
Speckled maps we tear into
To keep the normalness away 06/08/2009 Posted on 06/08/2009 Copyright © 2024 Jared Orlando
