It’s not about you

by Keith D Allison

The dribble of it all
as if someone really did care
wonder if the fish are biting
somewhere
hear the water
running in the mind
leave that
memory… behind

The coming of summer
just ain't the same
sunrays sunshine sunrise
with the passing of the time
empty the well
the dragonfly

just a little sweet tea
a cot stretched between two trees
the beauty drifted away
No story to tell
gone
those lazy hazy day

Down in the heart
grab the ice cream churn
it's not all about you
there's still a flower or two
that has not spread it bloom

We do see ourselves at the center of each season, don't we? Pity the poor flowers...we are only understudies. Nice write, Keith. Thanks.
