no one special

by John Ilotan

I am no one special
just a man
who feels too much
I've lost my sense
of sight and sound
I've lost my sense
of touch

But I can feel your heart beat
I can hear it call to me
it beats upon my broken heart
like rain against the sea

and oh, I long to hold you
just to feel your love again
but I'm adrift
too far from shore
to swim back home again

yes and well rounded, with great flow and metaphor...this is lovely.

Well crafted - very nice piece here. The rhyme adds to the overall poignancy of the work. --bf
