When I Am Old, I Want to Hold Your Hand

by Joe Cramer

When I am old, I want to hold your hand.
I do hope that you indeed understand.
The way that I feel,
Always so very real.
When I am old, I will hug you
Even though my days may be but few.
This is what I would want to do.
When I am old I will still hug you,
And once, even older, I would love you more
Than youu could ever think that I could do, even today.
This, is what be comes of my life, you see,
With you, holding your hand for an eternity.

a lovely sentiment indeed, I know the feeling (and reminds me just the tiniest bit of that song from "The Wedding Singer" -- something about "I want to grow old with you" -- that I always just thought was so sweet)...
