Ineffable Union

by Alison McKenzie

In my solar plexis,
I feel the stirring of
Quiet taking over
A settling in of the subtle body,
An acquiescence,
Surrender to
The alignment of my future
With whatever I encounter there.

I am just a passenger
On this journey.
I am taken
Away
And delivered,
A simultaneous union
Of where it is I’m meant to be.

I ride alone,
Finding freedom in the
Wind in my hair,
The harmonies of nature
Vibrating in squigglies
Straight to my core.
I hear an ocean,
The lyrics of ancient rhythms
Thundering directly
Into the beating of my heart.

I feel my form in separate
Yet ineffable union
With so many others.

Life is the nectar
Stretching me to these next moments.

the entire piece has a quiet power that builds with each line, branching out and into the reader...it's an immense sentiment filled with something more than wisdom...more than acceptance...the power of "at-one-ness" or something...all the while retaining a softness, a freedom...it's just really lovely.....and I relate very much...
