I Want to be Your Suitcase by Alison McKenzieToday I’m an empty chalk board,
Waiting for the knowledge of the Universe
To fill my nothing with something,
To make sense of the empty space;
Inscribe your experiences,
The formulas you've discovered -
I’m a clean slate.
Today I’m a sunny day,
Bringing smiles to all the Winter Goers
Hiking to get a good dose
Of vitamin D
And a touch of color to pale.
Today I’m a Hare Krishna -
Flowers offered to the Beloved
And worn in reverence
With tulasi beads
Around a strong neck
And dancing ecstatic.
Today I’m the wind chimes
That ring out songs of hope
In a world of wind-blown changes
And mindless traffic,
Reminding all the neighbors
That life resides in the vibes.
Today I’m your suitcase
Holding all your dreams, ready to
Hit the next adventure
So I don’t miss you when you go.

I promise I won't take up much room, and I'll hold all your treasures safely inside me, I promise. If you have to go, just take me with you. I'd rather be your luggage than go on without you." Which makes me wonder about baggage...heheh.
