OtherSide

by Jared Orlando

It can be quite tempting because
I’ve seen a thousand bridges
My fair share of cliffs
Touched enough sharp blades
It’s all quite alluring
The way the ice must feel
The struggle, the gasping
A sudden, peaceful escape
So nice to entertain
Such thoughts of feathery freefalls
A step outside of safety around
Streets where the demons creep
Smiles lap across my face
When I ponder over death
Over the blessed rot of it
Tears enough to fill the plot
So I've been told, and
They say the grass is greener
“On the other side”

an interesting twist on the thought...you've ended it well (seriously, no pun intended there)
