the story i don't want to tell by Ava Blui don't want to end up at the beginning of someone else's life,
but something believes this will happen
it feels like the rush of kayaking in the rain
will not last
and my body will become someone else's possession
and i will not know what to do next
i don't want to become someone's ending,
the story unfolding every step of my way
for someone to write about the points i missed
and the reasons why the book wasn't published under my name
in the middle of several run-on sentences,
i become the author
and you are merely an ellipse
i haven't yet decided to delete. 05/18/2009 Author's Note: hmm. unfinished? maybe.

| Posted by Gabriel Ricard on 05/18/09 at 10:48 PM I don't know if this is unfinished. It honestly seems to have a pretty strong beginning, middle and end. This is another one of your pieces that is carried so strongly and obviously by your desire to say something important. It builds the imagery and moves us through your thoughts with clarity and voice, especially in that last stanza, which I particularly like. Love this. |
