Gronbach II by Leonard M HawkesLying between feathers,
Stars visible,
Listening to an alpine stream
Singing of snowfields,
Spruces, and granitic boulders;
A variation of song
I know (my heart knows) so well.
And with the first light,
I will go up,
To thrust in my hand,
To feel the prints of the nails,
And to surrender my Faith
To Knowledge. 10/10/2009 Author's Note: Journal poem (modified) from the shore of the Urnersee in Switzerland; contemplating my first morning walk in the Alps.
