Far Too Long, Far Too Soon

by Joe Cramer

In dark sky I can still see the moon,
This jeweled orb, serenly shining on high.
It waxes, wanes, far too long, far too soon
With such a notion, left wondering why.
While I am waiting, it seems far too late
For something to happen in my small life.
I often wonder what will be my fate
As I suffer through this malaise, this strife.
I view this moon, glistening high above,
Its radiance, romance, I am made from.
All that I am forever thinking of,
Never knowing from whence I have come.
Such soft sweet moon, your forever guide me,
Your nocturnal glow always sets me free.
