out of touch

by Mary Frances Spencer

when
the heart
closes
heavy doors
on reaching fingers
slams iron bolts
against rain and tears
light somehow finds
and filters through
clouded windows
cracked walls

warm sun
intimate
distance

i send you
rays of warmth
i wait hope pray
maybe your heart
will open
and reach back

This is heavy with love and intention. I wonder what will happen?

You really do a wonderful job here of stating your hope. Every line is clear and right to the point.

And the question comes, with who? Nice write lady.

yes beautiful -- this part really hits home: when the heart closes heavy doors on reaching fingers
