May Day

by Maude Curtis

Were I once again that little girl
dancing 'round a pole while ribbons swirl,
leaving flower baskets on my neighbors door,
celebrating that spring is here once more.

No matter if you are young or old
get out and dance, have fun, be bold,
now the weather's getting warmer.
and summertime is around the corner.

So everyone have a Happy May Day
Get out in the sun and dance and play.

I work with younger people, they do not remember may baskets, it's nice to hear from someone who does...:)
