Soul Kisses

by Christopher Shin

Bind my soul as I stand
amongst the forgotten.
Tell me that the sky
can only open up once.

The sky is black and
the clouds gray with
tears that I can
no longer shade.

Blood mixes with soul
as I try to remedy the
solution to all the mistakes
that clump into one
clot.

And I want to know
the answers to the
kisses that embraces
me when love is tossed
like promises.

Surrender the youth
and forget nothing,
and I am on my way
to the clouds.

Where birds no longer
linger.
