a line has been drawn by Ava Bluthe humidity is alive in my veins
and I no longer feel a long breath
I no longer feel revived
pulled in different directions,
different timezones,
my body contorting beyond control
something is being covered up
and I know the ways to hide
I know the ways around the writing on the wall
if I can’t breathe,
if smog is consuming the lungs,
I exhaust all efforts
to help it live
it’s all for nothing
and someone should really tell you this.

Posted by Gabriel Ricard on 04/29/09 at 07:20 PM A short burst of intensity. It's almost like this thing hits its peak at the very first line and has completely winded down at the end. I can imagine the voice in the first line being a lot louder than in the last one. That first stanza, by the way, is a phenomenal shot of imagery. Brilliantly captured. |
