To explain in 180 words..

by Jared Orlando

Struggling to breathe,
I know it’s just the heartburn
I know it’s only the indigestion
It could only be that acid churning
The normal works of a cyclical pain wave
Boiling burning bubbling in my chest
And I’m doubled over and heaving
My arms are gasping out
And my mouth is reaching further
My eyes conceive hexes and nonexistence visions
I’m uneven and my balance leads to the floor
Something deep cries out and bellows
And it could be sort of crazy
But it’s how these organs deal with the aching
It’s how my heart pumps out its secrets
The ways my eyes and throat and ears
Spill and flood all agony and doubt
By destroying itself in order to convey emotion
Disturbing visuals of compressed memory
Now decompressing by filtering through glands
To bead upon my brow as I recover my steps
Build confidence between clammy hands
Stand in a fit of confusion conclusion and uncertainty
For it is only a matter of time
When I once again meet my fate
Becoming one with the flatness of the Earth

Very well done Jared. I'm sure there are those of us who have felt the same pain.

I would imagine a lot of us have indeed felt the same way, and you do a really good job here reminding us of that.
