A Perfect World

by Joan Serratelli

In a perfect world
there would be no
no pain
no problems
no distress

No need for war
no need for crime
everyone would have
they want

In a perfect world
there would be
to be
what you wanted
to be

No need for police
no need for guns
everyone would have
they need

In a perfect world
there would be
no strife
just an ability
to live
your life

No need for fighting
arguements would simply
not exist
everyone could

In a perfect world
we would have met
and never wondered
"whst if"
we would have
known right
from the start

No need to wonder
no need to dream
a chance
to be together
was all we would need

But the world
isn't perfect
as we all know
so forever
we'll go on
never to grow

A chance not given
a road not taken
unanswered questions
is all we will
ever have

I can only hope and have faith that someday that perfect world will be. I just pray that i'm worthy enough to live there.

If I could wish for my life to be perfect, it would be tempting but I would have to decline, because life would then no longer teach me anything. But, we all wonder, and ponder. Thanks.

A pretty damn good work in progress, at that.

And what is perfect but another word meaning far less than anyone is capable of describing. We all think we know all the words, but if we did we'd have all the answers. But still a good write.
