A Perfect World by Joan SerratelliIn a perfect world
there would be no
stress
no pain
no problems
no distress
No need for war
no need for crime
everyone would have
everything
they want
In a perfect world
there would be
freedom
to be
what you wanted
to be
No need for police
no need for guns
everyone would have
everything
they need
In a perfect world
there would be
no strife
just an ability
to live
your life
No need for fighting
arguements would simply
not exist
everyone could
co-exist
In a perfect world
we would have met
and never wondered
"whst if"
we would have
known right
from the start
No need to wonder
no need to dream
a chance
to be together
was all we would need
But the world
isn't perfect
as we all know
so forever
we'll go on
never to grow
A chance not given
a road not taken
unanswered questions
is all we will
ever have 04/24/2009 Author's Note: A work in progress.

Posted by Maude Curtis on 04/24/09 at 06:53 PM I can only hope and have faith that someday that perfect world will be. I just pray that i'm worthy enough to live there. |
Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 04/24/09 at 07:30 PM If I could wish for my life to be perfect, it would be tempting but I would have to decline, because life would then no longer teach me anything. But, we all wonder, and ponder. Thanks. |
Posted by Gabriel Ricard on 04/24/09 at 10:52 PM A pretty damn good work in progress, at that. |
