Rhythm of Frolic

by Alison McKenzie

Crossed a bridge today,
Found my solid ground,
Sure footed,
Listened to the bridge
Collapse into the abyss,
That gaping canyon of years.

I am on my side of reality again,
Listening to my music,
Comforted by the rhythm
In my own chest,
The rose quartz
That is my own heart,
The healing there,
The security of depth.

The echoes of my own melody
Ring into the ethers,
The misty morning drifting
Toward a glorious new sky.

Rediscovering my journey,
My faerie spirit laughing
A rhythm of frolic
Just above the wild berries
And into the wind
I fly.

Uplifting spirit in this -- in finding one's own enlightenment....
