Snowbells and pussy willows,
Narcissus and tulips:
Early symbols
Of the restless heart.
And in the hollow,
Zigadinas, Indian Parsnip,
Flox, and at the end
Balsomariza Saggitata.
Each bloom increasing drudgery--
The annual progression
The same:
Looking to the day
When I cut Dyers Woad
And school from my life.
