Vision

by George Hoerner

i see no legend past,
present, or future
upon which to lay my head

my grail never holy
has no luster
most reflections are memories
of battles lost

i feel the old scars
as the sword is
pulled from its scabbard

the sharp edge
reminding me of my mortality

regardless i live life
by my rules

refusing to acknowledge
your perfect vision of my life

If this was ever to be a post script to a life, this would be a rather brilliant way to go about that. I really enjoyed this.
