Nowhere To Go

by Joan Serratelli

i got up early
with very
high hopes
I took a shower
and did my hair
put a dress on
made coffee.
had breakfast
and took the
dog out

He, on the other hand
was already up
he had slept
all day
yesterday
and I did not
bother him once

It's pretty outside
and all I can do
is sit here
and cry
I've no place
to go

There's only so much time
one can surf the 'net
I'm tired,
I'm hurting
and I've no place
to go

I really tried
to leave him alone
yesterday he was sick
and I respected that
I did the laudry
feed the dog
took her out
cleaned her off

I made my own diner
no easy task
I did everything
I could
and got
not even a "thanks"

I need out
of here
but as you might know
I cannot drive
and I've no place
to go

I'm tired
of being alone
I'm tired
of doing
everything
I'm tired
of hurting
and crying
alone
but most of all
I need is
a place
I can go

Within you there is a stillness and a sanctuary to which you can retreat at any time and be yourself. Release yourself to it, doors and walls do not trap us, we trap and panic ourselves within our own minds, because when hope is nothing in a world where you always get crushed and when love is impossible because of hate and despair, and where dreams turn into nightmares, all you can do is crawl into the darkness, where love, hope, and dreams mean nothing, where everything means nothing, where you can't get hurt, where you're not afraid, where you can live life and enjoy it as it comes. Sometimes darkness is our: sanctuary, home and life.

but an important vent...the need to get away is so important! i wish you had a girl friend or a support group or something...my mom does the Red Hat thing and just getting out of the house and focusing on something else does her a world of good! she is exhausted afterwords, but it is so worth it!

Everyone needs a place to go, this is very understandable -- reading it makes me very sad and I hope you find a place (even within yourself as someone else said) to find joy and peace.
