Slow-motion by David NeubauerThere was a single moment,
an eternity, where I knew my fate.
Time felt like jello, really.
Mostly solid, but with just enough
waggle to push me towards the inevitable.
I inhaled sharply, but didn’t have the
presence of mind to exhale through my nose.
Do you have any idea how much jello stings
when you’ve got it up your nose? And then,
my arms leaden, hat clutched in hand, I paddled.
Wet and cold,I could only think that
Lake Lopez had claimed another victim. 04/13/2009 Author's Note: This was a kayaking moment, when my phone died. RIP Samsung :D
