Shattering Into Whole by Melissa PantherYou are raging tides
Smooth stone
Un afflicted
Pouring out
Within
Vast, containable
Shattering into whole
You have always
Been here
You are here
Now
Your unknown
Is my truth
Translating all
Things read and
Unwritten, unmentioned
You are
Sweet like slow spring
And Indian summers
Solitude and
Second glances
Unmentioned
Untied
Un torn
You are unspoken

Posted by Joan Serratelli on 04/13/09 at 08:04 PM You images are very vibrant and enhance the words. I like the repetition of "you are"/ The last stanza sums it all up! Thanks for this wonderful piece!

Posted by JD Clay on 07/18/09 at 02:44 PM I was attracted to this poem by its astronomical title. It initially drew my attention to deep space and the first stanza serves as an intriguing metaphor. I also like the pureness of this poem and the way it expands, Zenlike, where all things become whole and complete through no thing. Nice composition, Melissa.

Posted by Michael Defries on 12/30/09 at 07:32 AM This is evocative and timeless. It transcends moments. It is a fulcrum. It is balance. Every so often I read it again and more meaning seeps out. More transformation occurs in me and also in the writing. I will burn this into my mind so that I have a compass to guide me.
