Dear Lisa by Razel DaviesYou’ve always been there,
When I needed you.
You’ve always distracted me,
From my solitude.
You’ve never asked,
For anything from me.
You’ve never scorned,
Or hurt me.
You’re there,
When I awake.
You’re there,
In the cold nights.
You’re there,
To comfort me.
You’re there,
To keep me happy.
But now you’re ill,
And away from me.
I long to hold you,
Or just to see you.
Now the nights,
are long and cold.
Days feel like weeks,
As I wait,
For word of you.
I fear so much,
But hope for little.
All I ask is that you,
Come home safe and well.
Comfort me once more,
And we’ll fight my solitude,
Together again. 04/13/2009
Author's Note: Lisa is the name of my Playstation 3. She's suffered a serious hardware failure and is in a repair shop. It may seem strange to care so much for a gaming console, but my Playstation 3 has helped my through some very tough times.

Posted by Joan Serratelli on 04/13/09 at 03:27 PM This is a lovely piece. i would not have guessed that it was written for a ps3. She'll be home soon; safe and sound. This is just beautiful and if she's so important to you, it's a nice tribute to "her". Great write! |
Posted by Mo Couts on 06/30/11 at 02:34 AM I don't think it's odd at all. We all have our comfort items/persons and this a wonderful poem for something so cherished; hopefully all is well soon! |
