lucky number seven

by Ava Blu

i still haven’t explained the story
for this ring on my hand,
or the reasons for not saying hello

i may not have an explanation for each diamond,
each band around my finger,
but i bet no one is waiting around for it

the assumptions,
the realizations
that something else could be a mystery
are enough to drive the right person away

i haven’t been searching for anything,
haven’t tried my luck downtown,
but something tells me you’re my lucky number seven

i didn’t believe in chance,
fate
or any other such nonsense

but i’m turning over a new page,
using a new pen
and i think you just might be

my one-way ticket out of
town.

I really like the simple, gentle approach you take to this one. There's a very nicely done, quiet hope to this that never gets sappy or too sentimental. It's honest and direct, as is always the case with your work. Wonderful stuff.

...that message was addressed to me, right? man, i know what paranoics feel--it being all about them...you write a hugable pome here, so soft, yet cutting[the right depth as to get one's attention...naw really, sorry to be so long, this is a day in the life of just about anyone...makes it fit each reader...just wow on some of your lines/awarenesses...

This piece flows very well. It's not brutal, but soft and sensual and I like seeing these kind of feelings from you.
