Heaven could not wait

by Chelle Morris

We will celebrate your life, we will not mourn your death,
Because with us, you still are; you have never left.
Memories of you will keep, your love never gone,
We will not forget you, because your spirit lives on.

Life is such a precious gift, given to us only once,
Comfort comes in knowing you took your every chance-
To embrace your time here with us, to make every day last,
Your passing came too early, and your life went by so fast.

But-

Death is not the end, just a path to somewhere else,
Where you will be kept safe; at peace- where you can rest.
Far away from us now, and yet you are so close,
To those who knew you best; the ones who loved you most.

Never to be forgotten and never left behind,
For you still live within us; body, soul and mind.
Fantastic as we knew you, brilliant as you still are,
Your spirit still so radiant, you shine brighter than the stars.

Reunited with you, though it can't be said when,
Your loved ones, your family and friends will see you once again,
Until that day arrives, may you Rest In Peace and know,
We will think of you- every day, every night, and forever more.

Taken for reasons, of which we can never know why,
We cannot bring you back, however hard we try-
But words of love and tribute, can never be said too late,
Taken to another place - For you, Heaven could not wait.

Author's Note: In dedication to a lost friend. Maybe this will bring comfort to others who have lost loved ones.

this is the anniversary of my Mother's passing. This piece really spoke to me. I know you wrote it for a friend, and I'm sorry for your loss, but I feel like you wrote this for me. The last staza really made me cry! BEAUTIFUL tribute!
