What does my thumb think
When I use it
On a phone's key pad?
It is an opposable digit
Evolved to grasp or pick up
By working with the other four digits
Or just the index finger
For small items,
Today it competes with the index finger
For pushing key pad buttons,
It does a better job
Except for elevator buttons
Or doorbell buttons,
So now we have two digits
For pushing buttons,
Technology has enriched the life
Of our thumbs.
