Topic: Attempting Isn't Enough

by Amanda J Cobb

The old adage says
that if you pretend to be something
long enough,
you become it so convincingly
you even fool yourself.

What they don't tell you
is that when it wears off,
you find yourself alone
in a big pile of rubble,
and people will be hurt,
and it will be your fault.

We are all the architects
of our own destruction;
the only thing that differs
is the size of the fallout.
