sleeping with bombs inside her mouth...

by Olivia Weinkein

sleeping with bombs
inside her mouth, seams
tearing apart slowly
from the inside out

& the unravelling is unmercelessly
slow.

minutes tick into hours tick into days,
months as the undoing remains
undone.

pausing for reflection gets her
nowhere & dreams remain failures
to endure.

the incompletion of a life remains
incomplete, tying her hands to the bedpost
just to remember where it all began.

the importance of solitude is never that
important when you are
always
alone.

Wow, that was impressive. The feelings of regret, isolation and solitude are convey disturbingly well. I especially liked the line(s): "dreams remain failures to endure"... Isn't that the truth. An exceptional work.

And here I am, still reading this six years later. I've read your work a lot over the years. When I'm feeling forlorn, or just hating on the world in general, I come here sometimes. I try reading knew things, but more often than not I come back to what I know will help ease my 'disease' for lack of a better word. And it really helps, too... helps to know that I'm not the only one. I just wanted to thank you for that. Your words have helped me more than you'll know. Thanks. :)
