sleeping with bombs inside her mouth... by Olivia Weinkeinsleeping with bombs
inside her mouth, seams
tearing apart slowly
from the inside out
& the unravelling is unmercelessly
slow.
minutes tick into hours tick into days,
months as the undoing remains
undone.
pausing for reflection gets her
nowhere & dreams remain failures
to endure.
the incompletion of a life remains
incomplete, tying her hands to the bedpost
just to remember where it all began.
the importance of solitude is never that
important when you are
always
alone. 03/29/2009 Posted on 03/29/2009 Copyright © 2025 Olivia Weinkein

Posted by Coleman Demiurge on 03/31/09 at 07:49 PM Wow, that was impressive. The feelings of regret, isolation and solitude are convey disturbingly well. I especially liked the line(s): "dreams remain failures to endure"... Isn't that the truth. An exceptional work.

Posted by Coleman Demiurge on 05/20/15 at 04:25 PM And here I am, still reading this six years later. I've read your work a lot over the years. When I'm feeling forlorn, or just hating on the world in general, I come here sometimes. I try reading knew things, but more often than not I come back to what I know will help ease my 'disease' for lack of a better word. And it really helps, too... helps to know that I'm not the only one. I just wanted to thank you for that. Your words have helped me more than you'll know. Thanks. :) |
